Covid-19 Clinic Changes
Update – 06/01/21
Although mainland Scotland are currently placed under lockdown/ a ‘Stay at Home’ order by the Scottish Government, I can reassure patients that my professional body has confirmed that as a Chartered Physiotherapist I am classed as providing essential healthcare services. Therefore I can continue to practise in the current climate and patients can legally travel to their appointment.
I will be continuing to follow the additional strict hygiene practices I’ve had in place in light of the Covid-19 pandemic, and will continue to have the extended 1 hour slot for all appointments instead of the usual 40 minutes to allow for extra cleaning. If you have any questions or concerns about an upcoming appointment please do not hesitate to contact me.
If you fall into the shielding/clinically vulnerable category as defined by NHS Scotland please cancel your appointment and I am happy to offer advice by phone if possible/required.
You can read more about the guidance from my professional body, the CSP here.
What to Expect
Things are a bit different to normal and you can expect to see a few changes in my clinics, including:
-I’ll be wearing full PPE – that’s a mask, apron and gloves;
-I’ll be taking your temperature on entry to the clinic and if you have a temperature of 37.8C or higher, I will politely decline treatment and will ask you to call to rebook;
-I’ve extended my appointment slots from 40 minutes to one hour to allow time for cleaning the plinth and equipment between patients;
-I’ll be greeting my patients at the door and seeing them out, and asking you to arrive just at the time of your appointment to reduce the number of people in the building;
-Hospital grade hand sanitiser available for patient use;
-Patients will be encouraged to wear a face mask if possible;
-Contactless payment will be encouraged;
-Be assured that I will be taking my own temperature before and during the day.
I’ll continue to follow the CSP guidelines and will do everything I can to ensure your health and safety. Looking forward to seeing you in clinic!
